Patriotic Emblem

Harry Kenneth Miller, 80, passed away Friday, Jan. 11, 2019. Mr. Miller had worked as a hardware sales rep. for over 40 years. After his retirement he worked for Smyth County at the trash convenience stations, which he thoroughly enjoyed. Kenny was a hardworking and very devoted man who enjoyed his time talking to his friends and strangers, who then became his friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Minnie Childers Miller; two brothers, Earl and Elden Miller; and his sister, Viola Miller Echols. Survivors include his loving wife, Evelyn Miller of the home; Megan Miller Sturgill and husband Greg of Church Hill, TN.; nephew, Norman Echols; three nieces, Sandra Echols Fraizer, Carol Miller Gentry, and Kay Miller Williams; special nephew-in-law, Stephen Pugh; sister-in-law, Connie Casas; and two special customers/friends, Ricky Anderson and Eddie Yontz. Funeral services will be held privately. A celebration of life service will be held later in the year, tentatively July, but will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the McClure Cemetery, ICO, Teri Gilley, 451 Foothill Ln., Chilhowie, Va. 24319 in memory of his grandparents, Eli and Caroline Miller and William and Caroline Childers.
