James R. "J.R." Blevins
Marion, Va.

James R. "J.R." Blevins, 76, passed away peacefully Monday, Oct. 31, 2016 at his home in Marion.

J.R. was preceded in death by his parents and several brothers and sisters. Survivors include his wife, Carol Dean Riley Blevins of the home; one son, Eddie Blevins and wife Angel of Blountville, TN.; one daughter, Susan Altman and husband John of Chilhowie; five grandchildren, Erin Powers and husband Travis, Austin Blevins, Nick Altman, Zachary Altman, and Courtney Altman; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Rylee Powers; two sisters, Edna Johnson and Elizabeth Sexton. Numerous nieces, nephews, neighbors, and special friends also survive.

Funeral services will be conducted 7 PM Wednesday, Nov.2 at the Cleghorn Valley Baptist Church with Rev. Wesley Eller officiating. Graveside services will be held 11 AM Thursday, Nov. 3 in the Middle Fork Cemetery in Chilhowie. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends 5 until 7 PM Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the church.
