James S. Terry, age 73, passed away at his home in Chilhowie Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017. Mr. Terry was retired from the phone company after 41 years of service. James is survived by his children, Joseph S. Terry and wife Traci of Chilhowie, Cynthia Hope Davenport and Cecil Owens of Glade Spring and Travis Neal Terry and wife Traci of Christiansburg, Va.; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Ed and Charles Terry; two sisters, Louise Cooper and Alice Doane; and numerous aunts, uncles, and many special friends. Funeral services will be conducted 8 PM Saturday, Sept. 16 in the Williams Funeral Home Chapel. Graveside services will be held 2 PM Sunday, Sept. 17 in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Rich Valley. Friends and family are asked to meet at the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 pm Saturday prior to the funeral service at the funeral home.
