Janet Sturgill Stamper, 71, passed away Thursday, April 1, 2021. Janet was preceded in death by her mother and father, Helen and Fields S. Sturgill and by her brother, Randy Sturgill. Survivors include her loving husband, Roger Stamper; children, Trina Gross of Chilhowie, Julie Mitchell and husband Steven of Chilhowie; Heather Parker of Marion; Trampas Stamper and wife Paula of Marion; and Terra Stamper of Yorktown, Va.; great grandchildren, Justin Goble, Alysan Mitchell, Jaedian Berry, Ethan Roark, Marina Gross, Erika Stamper, Micah Mitchell, and Noah Ring; sister, Tammy King and husband Noel; best friend, Sloane Anderson; and several nieces, nephews, and special friends. Funeral services will be conducted 8 PM Monday, April 5, 2021 at the Chilhowie Baptist Church with Rev. Cody Sturgill, Rev. Chuck Herrell, and Rev. Wesley Eller officiating. Graveside services will be conducted 2 PM Tuesday, April 6, 2021 in the Cleghorn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM Monday prior to the funeral service at the church.
